Golden Rule: First Strike

Chapter 1:

"Spade has flooded the first floor." Informed Avo as he ran across the hallways, shouting out the news he was given from the battlefield. "Spade has flooded the first floor!" His voice trailed off as Seiko turned to Ashni and Pyrail. They were inside Crystal's base; standing before them was a map of the entire castle. Seeing that the first floor was flooded, they had no choice but to move all of their plans into the second floor. But Ashni always wondered, "Was this a plan just so that we can fall into their trap?" Pyrail looked up at her, shaking his head before smiling. "No. But if it is. Then we'll be ready." "I hope so." Ashni sighed, looking at the map again.

The sky was white with a few snowflakes coming down. The war resumed with Crystal and Sharubi's disagreement on where to attack Ryker. It was then turned into a full scale civil war with all their allies dragged into it, Ashni sighed and stared off at the map. There were explosions outside, several screamed for help and Spade makes his move on the allies. "Things weren't going according to plan." Ashni thought, drawing her blade. She was going to join the battle to help turn the tide. Seeing that staying inside the base will only lead to her being a target by anyone, Seiko growled and pointed out as the waters rushed into the first floor. Flooding everything in its path, this is the advantage they need. Crystal fell back towards the secret vent off to the side. But Sharubi knew where he was going and tried to circle around to attack Crystal on the other side of the secret vent.

Then there was a shout and Ashni knew it was coming from Seiko. "On me!" Seiko shouted and Ashni gave a secret smile. Pyrail wondered what she was thinking. But it's best not to mention it in front of her as two bodyguards rushed out on Seiko. They moved as a unit towards Sharubi's base while he's being distracted by Crystal. But the CypherLeafs was stopped when they were suddenly ambushed by Mizu. Throwing two explosive blades in front of the Cypherleafs, Mizu jumped down and drew her blade. The Cypherleafs drew theirs as Seiko shouted "Go around and attack." Shiro and Sayuri nodded and went around the two explosive blades and tried to attack Mizu. Avo and Jareth was downstairs, holding their paws up high. They were drowning, yet they wondered how they got here.

Kai looked down and sighed. While Fia was busy attacking Lycia. Kai grabbed a nearby rope on the wall behind him and lunched it down. Holding it tight as Avo and Jareth grabbed the rope. But, it was cut off by an mysterious blade and the other rope fell without resistance. Kai glanced over as saw Caesar on the opposite side of him, smiling. His blue blade shines in the light as he boastfully jumped from one side to another. Kai gasped and backed off. Then, he noticed a small long rope reaching up and grabbing Caesar's beaver like tail. Kai blinked and smiled. Just when Caesar reached the other side, he ran over to him and pushed him off like any child would.

He growled at Kai as the gravity pulls him down towards the first floor and he landed into the water with a small splash. Avo smiled and gave thumbs up towards Kai who nodded. He glanced over and saw Fai with two blades about her neck. Growling, he circled around Fai and tried to stab Lycia who back flipped into the air, dodging the stab by Kai. She smiled intensively and retreated leaving the two sighing in union. The Cypherleafs retreated towards the FireShards. Out of breath, Seiko wondered about Ashni's and Pyrails' plan. "Had they thought about it yet? We're at a disadvantage here!" Kai shook his head, sadly.

"Not yet, Seiko." Spoke Kai. He looked away and wondered about Ashni and Pyrail. But he had more important things to do. He glanced at Seiko but he already disappeared out of thin air. He blinked and sighed. Shrugging before heading towards Sharubi's base, Kai and Fla made one last attempt to turn this around. What better way to do it than to set fire on the enemy's supplies! he smiled at the thought of it and glanced over at Fla who nodded also. "But we may need help also. I also suggest that we must hurry." Blinking, he asked "Why?" "Because the Moongem Horizon already made their move." he nodded and grabbed a torch from a room not too far from where he is. They made their way towards the supply room.

Meanwhile, the Cypherleafs and the Frozenshards stood defensively against the Moongem horizon. The Moongems wanted to attack the allied supply room which they claimed was full of weapons and food. Seiko disregarded it and swing his blade around Atrox who ducked underneath it. Lycia was having trouble herself, faced with countless enemies. She wondered if she was going to survive this battle as she deflected and tried so hard to counter attack. But the enemies she was left with were so fast, it was as if she was going slow motion. She continued to press on. The FrozenShards had their cuts around the cheeks and body, thanks to Lycia herself. Lycia only received minor injuries on her face. But she doesn't care about it. Blood thickens as it drips down her face. She didn't recognized it until it made a pool of blood from where he stands.

She attacked again countless times but Seiko and Janous proved too fast for her. She ducked over Janous' overhead attack, cutting just a bit of fur from her head. Seiko tried going for the stab, but Lycia blocked it and counter attack. Seiko just jumped back and the cycle repeats with no clear winner. Atrox noticing this tries to draw his enemies close to Lycia. Lycia growled at Atrox who smiled. Motioning her to keep them at bay while he goes after the supplies, Lycia growled as she blocks Shiro's attack but was swiped under her feet by Sayuri. The battle was over for them as Seiko drew his blade on her. Janous, now convinced, heads back into the supply room to deal with Atrox.

Only to find that he was too late as the flames burst out from the room like raging lions. On the other side of the hallway, a similar scenario was unfolding. Seiko turned his head as another set of flames burst out. He smiled seeing that the Flame shards had done their job. Sadden by the thought they lost their own; they both retreated back into their respective bases.

"Okay guys." Ashni smiled as she stared into the three groups. Seiko, Janous and Kai listened very carefully as she walked up to them. "After much talk and arguing, we have a plan set in motion." Ashni spoke, nodding to everyone. Seiko smiled as Janous and Kai cheered. Celebrating as if they won the war. Ashni smiled and resumed speaking. "We are going to use the fire that they gave to us to our advantage." "What?!" Janous roared, standing up. "Are you kidding me!?" "Not a bad plan, my princess." Informed Seiko very impressed. Ashni nodded and glanced at Janous and Kai. Janous sat down and nodded. "But of course." She spoke. "Great. Pyrail will lead his team towards Sharubi's base." Crystal walked in moments later. Her entire body was burned as she opened the door. Kai laughed while Janous stood up, running at Crystal. "What happend?" "The Xiras have boats and going to use it in their raid against our own base." "Knew it." Growled Pyrail.

There were already two rooms taken by the Moongem horizon as they set up their camp there. Scattering their supplies around the place, they hope they could catch the enemy by surprise. Spade smiled and sorted everything they got from a flashlight to food. They were well prepared. Silvia, Lycia and Atrox were off to the side sleeping. It was nighttime and the battle had died down. No one was stirring as crickets started sounding out their music. Spade glanced outside into the icy world and sighed. He often wonders how his team got into this mess and intertwined with the war between Crystal and Sharubi. He gave a sighed and went off to the side to sleep.

Around midnight, the moongem horizon ventured out from their own base and jumped down from the rails of the second floor. Spade nodded to the rest of his team and they scattered themselves. Operating the ship was too easy for the moongems as they are always at sea making and sailing ships all throughout the sea. So this isn't new for them to venture out into Crystal's base. "Does everyone remember the plan?" Spade whispered just as Lycia pointed up above. Several shadows were running and Spade froze in place.

"They... aren't doing what I think they're doing." Spade blinked as he watched the shadows run into their own base. He growled, so much for that base. Caring less, he ordered the ship to be sailed to enemy territory. When they were there, the moongems climbed out of the ship and took the stairs towards the second floor again. Time and assent was on their side as Spade became nervous. He knew about the enemy's shadows attacking their base. "But what for?" he often wondered as they moved forward into the pillars. They set off countless of traps and they knew that Crystal was ready for them. Growling, Spade turned to Lycia and Silvia. Pointing out into their target, the girls nodded and headed out leaving the boys behind. The explosion happens and Spade glanced at Sharubi before gasping. The fire was started at their room as furniture began to burn down. The lamppost burned out and the television was burned down. He blinked, "Why are our bags still there?" He wondered and turned to Atrox. "Did you forget them?" "Which one?" Atrox blinked, I brought yours and Si- Crud."

Suddenly as if on cue, the explosion happens. burning down the room as the fresh cold air attempted to ease the burning fire. But nothing could ever bring it down, Sharubi growled and headed off. He pointed at Spade and began to show gestures. Spade went out cold and he gulped with fear. Atrox whispered from behind him "What now, Spade? You just sign a death Certificate." Spade scowled at him and he reeled back. "There's two things we can do. But seeing that Silvia and Lycia will burn down their base. I see no point in continuing our involvement in this war. He glanced at Atrox and away "We might as well call them back. Lycia and Silvia ran back towards them. They were smiling and feeling glad. But once they saw Spade. All of their happenings was gone. "What's going on?" We've been dishonored by Sharubi. The water coalition had just retreated into their secret base that even we don't know off. "And what about the allie- oh right..." Silvia spoke and then remembered they're setting fire on their base.

Suddenly, there were flames in the base. The moongem horizon turned to the Ice coalition who ran out of the base. Screaming in fear as shouts filled the air. It was Ashni trying to get the entire coalition together. Crystal was helping her get things organized. But seeing in this disarray had Spade's heard sunk. "We might as well retreat was we still can." Spade whispered, turning to the group. Silvia nodded, fear was upon them. Seeing how they failed to burn the ice coalition in time before the water coalition retreated. They knew they failed the mission. They've escaped from the castle and fled back to their homeland. Fears and worries soon carried them throughout their lives.

"I don't believe this." Crystal growled, pacing back and forth along the black and white lines of Ashni's castle. Ashni sighed in her chair and glanced at the window. The yellow foxes were cheering for their old queen to return as balloons raised themselves into the bright blue sky. "I don't suppose..." "They don't even know it yet, Crystal." Ashni sighed. Crystal nodded "Well then." She smiled, "What can we do? The war has been drawn into our first even ceasefire." "There's one thing we can do. Stop Sharubi from killing Spade. Remember before the flames, that Spade failed to set fire to our base before us." Crystal nodded, growling every now and then "Well then..." Ashni smiled, "Why don't we protect them in hopes they will join us." "But they won't!" Crystal yelled.

"Oh but they will." Interrupted a voice as the two queens turned to Pyrail. He was walking through the door and smiled. He was wearing his old military uniform back when he declared war on both of them. On his head was a gray cap. Crystal rolled her eyes and glanced to the opposite side as Ashni stood up and smiled. "you look really nice!" "Thank you." Pyrail nodded. Then he turned to Crystal, "So what are we doing now?" "We're helping Spade defend himself against the water coalition. We've believed that Sharubi is planning an attack against him. If we are successful then we can ask Spade to join us in our cause." "and if we're not?" Pyrail raised his eye brown. Crystal laughed "Nothing. Then we'll proceed with the plan against the castle again."

"I don't suppose." Spoke Caesar sighed, glancing at Sharubi. Tapping his paws against the floor, he was growling very faintly. His bodyguards could tell that he was mad. Mad at Spade because of not setting the fire quickly enough for them to take the advantage off. Sharubi stood up and walked around the table. Caesar and Mizu glanced at one another, nervously. before looking at Sharubi. Slamming his paw onto the floor, he spoke "We are attacking Spade directly, we will take over his land and we'll use it in my glory!" "But how?" Asked Caesar, blinking. He held his tongue just as Sharubi glanced at him angrily. "How? We'll attack them directly." Sharubi explained again, "This time we'll do it with someone more reasonable." "Like who?" Asked Mizu, cocking her head to the right. Caesar and Sharubi sighed "Ryker." Sharubi answered.

There was a collective of aws as Sharubi smiled "We will attack Spade first and conquer it. When we're done with him, we're going to ask Ryker to join us and then burn down the ice coalition." "A smart plan." Spoke Caesar, smiling. But that wasn't the half of it as Sharubi smirked at both his bodyguards. They both knew that the fun was just beginning....
